How this practice page works

Which mode should I use?

Subject practice lets you check each answer as you go and see the official answer immediately. Full paper gives you the complete paper with the official time limit; answers and marks appear only after you finish. A random mixed set picks questions from every available year, optionally from one subject and topic, and is marked at the end like a test.

How do topics work?

Choose a subject, then a topic. All 1,170 questions have one primary topic within their existing subject. Civil Engineering topic labels follow the GATE 2027 CE syllabus where applicable; General Aptitude has separate aptitude categories. Older papers may include topics outside the 2027 syllabus. Mixed-concept questions receive a clearly named mixed topic. Topic filtering works in subject practice and random sets. Full-paper mode always includes the complete paper.

How are marks calculated?

MCQ: full marks for the correct option, and one-third of the question's marks deducted for a wrong option. MSQ: select every correct option and no wrong one; no partial or negative marks. NAT: your value must fall inside the official accepted range; no negative marks. Questions declared "marks to all" in the official key are awarded automatically. Totals are raw marks, not a normalised GATE score.

Where do the questions come from?

Questions, marks and answers follow the official GATE question papers and final answer keys published by the organising IIT; each question links to the official paper. Subject tags are CivilEase classifications. Older papers number General Aptitude (GA) and Civil Engineering (CE) separately; the question heading shows that original number alongside its position in this practice set. Where the official key accepts alternative answers, either listed answer set earns full marks.
